Resident Fight & Intimacy Director
Marcee Doherty
Marcee Doherty (Resident Fight & Intimacy Director) is proud to support the fabulous performers and creative teams of Purse String Productions, bringing a consent-forward approach to shows including The Golden Girls, The Nanny, Bob’s Burgers, and Hocus Pocus. A Milwaukee-based actor, singer, educator, and Intimacy Director, Marcee also serves in resident intimacy and/or fight direction roles with The Fireside Theatre, Skylight Music Theatre, and Bombshell Theatre Company. Her work emphasizes trust, communication, collaboration, and respect for performers’ physical and emotional boundaries throughout rehearsal and performance. While Purse String's drag parodies are delightfully irreverent, unapologetically outrageous, and packed with laugh-out-loud moments, she and Purse String Productions believes these productions deserve the same thoughtful attention to consent and safety as any theatrical production. From exaggerated physical comedy and suggestive humor to emotional vulnerability and personal boundaries, intentional storytelling helps performers feel supported and empowered to embrace the outrageousness. Because these drag parodies may be outrageous, but consent and safety are no laughing matter!
