Marcee Doherty (Sophia Petrillo) is thrilled to be back behind the glasses, clutching her signature rattan purse, and dispensing unsolicited wisdom (and insults!) for Purse String Productions’ 10th Anniversary Golden Girls Holiday Drag Special! Marcee has been bringing everyone’s favorite sharp-tongued Sicilian spitfire to life since 2020, and Sophia remains one of her absolute favorite roles. Recent onstage credits include Hairspray (The Fireside Theatre), Disaster! (Bombshell Theatre Company), Follies (Milwaukee Opera Theatre), and The Nanny and Bob’s Burgers (Purse String Productions). A Milwaukee-based actor, singer, educator, and Intimacy Director, Marcee is delighted to reunite with her Golden Girls family for another holiday season of cheesecake, chaos, and questionable life advice. She’s grateful to Purse String Productions for a decade of fabulousness and for letting her get away with saying things that would get her slapped in real life. Picture it: Milwaukee, 2026.
